Sony Music Canada Sony Music Canada signs, produces, manufactures, markets, sells and distributes recorded music. Their passion towards music coupled with their focus on innovation has led to the creation of a unique office environment at their Toronto facility. Non-conventional construction details and finishing treatments surprise the visitor. Office space shortage necessitated the refurbishment of a tape duplication area into a functional office environment. Sony was looking for a dynamic, open office environment to facilitate collaboration between management and staff. In addition, a plug and play solution was essential to enhance the mobility of the workspace. POI’s solution incorporated Steelcase Segment for individual workareas and Quotient with Relevant furnishings for private spaces. Conjunction and other work tools created informal meeting areas. Tate raised floor allowed for plug and play access throughout the space. Personalized interviews for worktool requirements allowed each staff member customization of their individual workareas. As a consequence, current occupants are very happy with this work environment; the teaming areas have in fact been replicated in various areas throughout the facility as this dynamic compliments Sony’s culture and character of their office facility. |
